Abundant Joy and Peace in His Presence

I want to share a short devotional from Jesus Calling. If you’ve ever read Jesus Calling, it’s a very good devotional. It reads as if God is talking right to you.

It says:

When you worship Me in spirit and truth, you join with the choirs of angels who are continually before My throne. Though you cannot hear their voices, your praise and thanksgiving are distinctly audible in heaven. Your petitions are also heard, but it is your gratitude that clears the way to My heart. With the way between us wide open, My blessings fall upon you in rich abundance. The greatest blessing is nearness to Me: abundant joy and peace in My presence. Practice praising and thanking Me continually through this day.

I like how it talks about the abundant joy and peace we have when we’re in His presence.

There’s nothing that brings us into His presence more than when we worship Him. As we worship, we join with the choirs of angels before His throne, and our praise and thanksgiving are heard in heaven. Our petitions are heard too, but this devotional reminds us that gratitude clears the way to His heart.

As we praise and thank Him, we experience the greatest blessing of all—nearness to Him, and the abundant joy and peace found in His presence.
