Ready to Burn

I just wanted to share with you quickly: I had a dream. Often dreams are for ourselves nd they're multilayered and symbolic, but I felt like it was for the church.
In the dream I saw a building. It was a literal building, and it could have been that too. I saw this building that was partially finished, and there were workers that showed up, actually from another church, and they provided skilled workers and finances. At one point, there was someone who was stacking a big stack of dry wood that they had been trying to split and it was ready to burn.
When I went to check on the rooms that had only been partially finished, all of a sudden they were done, and they were way nicer than I had expected. They were kind of rustic, but also very creative and sophisticated and intricately designed. I remembered that I had felt quite humbled by these workers that had shown up, and had provided skills, and also contributed really generously in a financial way. Our job was just to kind of receive it, and that was actually kind of hard.
I thought it just spoke to us, and maybe some of you are better at dream interpretation than I am, that God is building an interesting mix of people. We’re people of the land, not necessarily a lot of professionals, but people who have a real heart for God, and there’s an intricate creativity amongst us, I believe. I also felt like the wood being stacked was symbolic of people who are ready to burn. And I believe that God wants to light a fresh fire in our hearts.
So I just want to encourage you that God sees us as a church. He’s got big plans for us. I think it’s really significant. What really stuck out, was that stack of wood being ready to burn for God.
I just wanted to share that with you, and I wanted to pray for that this morning.
Father, we thank you that you have brought together this people of Crossroads, who have a heart to serve you, and we do pray that you would light that fresh fire in our hearts, Lord. We thank you that you want to move in significant ways, and we pray, Father, that we would ready ourselves for what you want to do, what you’re building, because your word says, unless the Lord builds the house, we labor in vain. And so we trust the process, we believe that you have good things for us, and we thank you for that in Jesus’ name.
